The Sims 4: Celebrating Diversity

After finding themselves in hot water with BIPOC simming communities, The Sims 4 team realized they needed to do something about their inherent white gaze on the iconic life simulator game. Details small and large overlooked from textured hairstyles to patchy skin tones. Celebrating minorities is not restricted to their respective historical months, but instead should be celebrated all the time. In other words, there doesn’t need to be a reason to celebrate the unique perspectives of minority communities. For this project, I created a social media campaign celebrating diversity in The Sims. The media assets below are for Facebook, Instagram (or “Simstigram”), and Youtube.
